Harvest 2024 at the Quinta do Paço winery: a celebration of tradition and quality

As the sun grazed the rolling hills of northern Portugal, another harvest season began at the Quinta do Paço winery.

For the third year, we harvested high-quality, healthy grapes processed into our characteristic Vinho Verde wines.

Fifteen enthusiastic workers came together to 2024 harvest.

The 2024 harvest, characterized by hard work and tradition, marks another step in our journey to produce wines that bring the taste of Portugal to the world.

This year’s harvest was a very special one, with three days of work, joy and community.

Fifteen enthusiastic workers came together to harvest our grapes: the crisp Arinto, the full-bodied Avesso.

We also harvested a small quantity of red wine grapes Espadeiro (or padeiro / bakeman in Portuguese) as we call it just for fun) to make a new rosé wine.

The newly planted red wine varieties Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca are growing.

Each variety, carefully harvested by hand, promises a delicious and vibrant Vinho Verde that captures the freshness and essence of this unique place in the Douro region.

Our team has worked in harmony with the land and carefully selected the best grapes. But as with any grape harvest, the work was balanced by the joy of community and tradition.

“It’s hard, but it’s worth it.” – Walter Dubach.

Every day for lunch, we gathered around a table laden with the flavours of the Douro: the traditional oven meat, rice and potatoes, cornbread, fresh onions, spicy ham, ripe tomatoes and, of course, ANA wine.

It was a true celebration of the harvest and the lifestyle that goes with it.

These shared meals not only nourished us but also reflected the deep connection between our wines and the land they come from.

We look forward to the bottling of this year’s Vinho Verde with great anticipation.

The balance of flavours and the quality of this year’s grapes give us every reason to believe that 2024 will be an outstanding vintage.

Every day for lunch, we gathered around a table laden with the flavours of the Douro.

From the vibrant Arinto grape to the new Avesso grape and the Espadeiro harvested for the rosé wine, each variety promises a fresh, aromatic wine that will capture the spirit of Quinta do Paço and the magic of the Douro region.

We look forward to sharing these wines with you soon and thank everyone who has contributed to making this year’s harvest another chapter in our history.

Cheers to a successful harvest and many more to come!
